A successful Greenfinity Day 2019 in Vitoria, Brazil
Rubbish disposal and raising awareness on World Clean-up day with 21 volunteers
Greenfinity Day on 21st September in Vitoria, the capital city of the state of Espírito Santo, ran without a hitch: 21 volunteers were able to free three locations in "Praça Municipal Padre Alfonso Pastore" Park from rubbish.
The Praça Municipal Padre Alfonso Pastore is a popular meeting place. People of all ages can be seen playing on the sports courts and in the playground; the park is also perfect for longer walks.
However, all this lively activity has meant that, over time, the park has filled with rubbish, which is why they decided to organised a Greenfinity Day. But they didn't just want to organise a rubbish collection scheme, they also wanted to use the scheme to make people aware of the importance of rubbish disposal and the environment for the good of our planet's future.

Motivated volunteers
There were even some families with children amongst the 21 volunteers who took part in the Greenfinity Day on 21st September. Greenfinity t-shirts and hats were handed out to the volunteers at the start of the campaign day, which the children were very enthusiastic about. This attracted the attention of passers-by too.

Finally, the volunteers were divided up into three groups and each group went to work on a different area of the park. They collected the rubbish into large bin bags.
Over the course of two hours, they managed to collect 8 kilos of rubbish.

The children evidently enjoyed the campaign day and were proud to receive their Greenfinity certificate. It also taught them that it's important for the future of our planet that we look after the environment.
The Greenfinity Day was a great success and the Praça Municipal Padre Alfonso Pastore was clean once again!
A big thank you to the whole team at myWorld Americas and to all volunteers for their enthusiastic commitment to the Greenfinity Day!
