Tree planting for the future - Looking back on our tree planting event in Őrkény

On Monday, March 25th, our first tree planting event of the year took place in the picturesque town of Őrkény, about 50 kilometers southeast of Budapest. The tree planting festival was organized as part of our awareness-building project "10,000 Trees for Climate Protection" together with our Nature Guardian Josef Kurucz and in cooperation with the Huszka Hermina Primary School and the Örkényi Manócska Óvoda Kindergarten.

This year, the festival took place in Őrkény for the second time and was attended not only by the children and their parents but also by the mayor of the town and interested residents. Alejandro, the project manager of our partner organization Child & Family Foundation, also traveled with us to plant saplings with the children and to talk about the importance of environmental and climate protection.

The program included an exciting morning full of poetry, singing, dancing, and interesting conversations before the children were allowed to plant trees on the school grounds as the highlight of the event. Despite the changeable weather, the first tree planting event of 2024 was a great success! At this point, we would like to express our sincere thanks to Josef Kurucz and the many volunteers who contributed to making the day an unforgettable experience for everyone present.
