Sustainable projects around the world

see the projects

Applying the motto "Together for our planet. A future together." we are active across the globe in the field of environmental protection. We can only realise our projects with the help of countless partners and supporters and thereby preserve our living environment in the best possible way.

Our project areas

There are four elements in Western culture - fire, water, air and earth. Protecting these four elements should be our priority to preserve our natural environment.

Fire, or in our case the sun, produces the energy required for our alternative energy projects. Without water, there would be no life on earth, for this reason we wish to grant access to drinking water with the help of our water projects. Air, is the element we wish to keep as clean as possible. We wish to achieve this through the reduction of pollutant emission and the ecological footprint. Earth creates our habitat and is the basis for our nutritional projects.

295.000 lt. clean drinking water
is provided by our wells every hour for people in arid regions.

Water is life

While many struggle with the effects of floods, others are plagued by drought. Climate change will likely push the water cycles to even further extremes. Water will continue to be a precious commodity unavailable to all. Even in 2017, 29% of the world's population do not have access to clean drinking water. By 2040 the existing fresh water reserves will only cover 70% of the population's water demand.

Without water, there is no life
Agriculture, the industrial sector and the human population are dependent upon water. Water is not only essential as a staple, but is also needed for sanitation and hygiene. With its well construction projects, the Greenfinity Foundation would like to offset the unjust distribution of water and ensure the population's health by implementing sanitary facilities and granting access to clean drinking water. Two excellent examples of such successful projects are the Amina Zwindila Foundation School and the Holy Trinity School in Nigeria. Our well construction project in Brazil facilitates the lives of numerous people thanks to the provision of drinking water.

Preservation of natural habitats

The natural habitats are steadily decreasing. The exploitation of our planet's resources and the ecological damage are resulting in the irreparable destruction of entire ecosystems. Not only fauna and flora but humans as well suffer from this worrying development.

The Greenfinity Foundation would like to compensate nature for what has been taken. For this reason, the Foundation has implemented clean-up campaigns such as clearing waste from beaches across the globe with the help of committed voluntary helpers. With joint forces, it is possible in just a short amount of time to contribute towards the preservation of our natural habitats and to sensitise the population to this important issue. Waste recycling is an important factor for the sustainable use of the Earth's resources. We must handle our environment carefully, as we only have this one planet.

The restoration of natural habitats through reforestation is also a fundamental concern of the Greenfinity Foundation. A Greenfinity mixed forest in being planted in Nicaragua, which provides the inhabitants of the region with firewood as well as wood and fruits for sale. Furthermore, thanks to the Cashback World and Lyconet Community, smaller reforestation projects are continuously being implemented on a voluntary basis and result in the sustainable improvement of the local population's living conditions.

Alternative energy sources

Our planet's natural resources such as crude oil or coal are not infinitely available. Electricity consumption is steadily increasing, especially due to the increasing permeation of technology in everyday life. To produce enough electricity, natural resources are needed. Which is why the key for non-renewable resource preservation lies in the reduction of energy demand. The use of renewable energy resources that stem from solar radiation, water or wind power spare our resources. These alternative energy production measures are limitlessly available to us and ideally create less pollution.

Harnessing the sun's power
The Greenfinity Foundation especially supports and initiates projects dealing with solar energy. We thereby reduce the amount of pollutant emission, such as particulate matter, and protect the climate by avoiding the production of greenhouse gases. Furthermore, solar energy has an indefinite use.

Sustainable nutrition

Experts are already warning of a global fight for water and food, as the increasing population will not survive on the current system for long.

There are currently approximately 800 million people who suffer from hunger. This problem often pertains to children from the poorest backgrounds, whose health and cognitive performance are usually badly affected as a consequence of poor nutrition.

While biological products are becoming increasingly integrated into the average western household, the knowledge of our food and the nutrients it contains has been lost. Helping people help themselves is therefore the guideline on which the Greenfinity Foundation projects are based. Whether we are promoting urban gardening in cities or sustainable nutritional programmes as in for example the Philippines - the aim of the Greenfinity Foundation is to create awareness for a healthy, ecologically sustainable nutrition. People in geographically disadvantaged regions should therefore receive the opportunity to cultivate their own garden.

Ecological Footprint

Life leaves its mark. Our actions, every product we consume, our means of transportation - it all requires resources and energy and causes waste and emissions.

The ecological footprint
The ecological footprint shows how much of the earth's resources we require. It calculates how many hectares of land are needed to compensate the resources and means of waste removal required by an individual, a company, or an entire country. Our aim should be to keep this land as small as possible and to give back to planet earth what we have taken. At the moment, we would need the capacities and resources of three earths to sustain mankind's lifestyle.

Recognise. Reduce. Compensate.
Our footprint calculator calculates your share of negative influence on the environment. Aside from offering ideas on minimising the emission of pollutants, the footprint calculator also allows you to compensate for a part of your ecological footprint.

Give and take
For every square meter of your ecological footprint, we will replant a piece of earth within our reforestation projects in Germany and Nicaragua. Thereby allowing you to compensate for your pollutant emission and preserve our planet's natural resources.

We vigorously pursue the goal of reducing and compensating the ecological footprint by supporting companies or events in becoming CO2-neutral. In doing so, we minimise the damaging effect on our environment.
