Greenfinity Day South of Mexico City – 100 Trees Planted
A successful Greenfinity Day in Mexico, where 15 volunteers planted 100 trees.
On the morning of 27 October, 15 volunteers met to contribute towards greener and nicer surroundings in the San Miguel Topilejo community in Tlalpan, Mexico City, within the framework of the Greenfinity Day. Together they planted 100 trees.
Like many countries around the world, Mexico is faced with the problem of large-scale deforestation due to a ruthless greed for profit. Both the environment and people seriously suffer from this overexploitation as trees are nature’s air purifiers. They filter CO2 and other greenhouse gases such as carbon monoxide or sulphur dioxide out of the polluted air and dispense oxygen.
Hence, reforesting areas such as the rural villages in the south of Mexico City is an important measure to support and maintain a natural habitat and the quality of life for its inhabitants.
For a greener future
In order to support the Greenfinity Foundation’s reforestation project in San Miguel Topilejo, 15 volunteers from the myWorld Mexico team, Marketers and their family members and friends met on site at dawn on 27 October. Wearing Greenfinity Foundation shirts and equipped with spades, they got to work with lots of motivation. Hole after hole, and tree after tree, they contributed to the region’s reforestation. 100 planted beacons of hope later, they could look at their work with content.
We thank all volunteers for their committed help, and the entire myWorld Mexico team for making the Greenfinity Day a reality as part of the reforestation project.
